Siemens selected as preferred bidder for Thameslink Rolling Stock Procurement Programme (TRSP)

Siemens and Cross London Trains (XLT) (a consortium consisting of finance partners Siemens Project Ventures GmbH, lnnisfree Limited and 3i Infrastructure plc), have been selected as preferred bidder for the UK Government’s Thameslink Rolling Stock Procurement Programme (TRSP), led by the Department for Transport.

Siemens' Mobility Division established its "Rail Innovation Centre of Competence" - the first of its kind worldwide - in the United Kingdom in March 2011. Siemens Desiro Class 444 is officially the most reliable train in Britain

Siemens is officially the manufacturer and maintainer of the most reliable trains in Britain.  The coveted ‘Golden Spanner’ for 2010 was awarded by Modern Railways to the Siemens Desiro Class 444 electric train owned by Angel Trains, operated by South West Trains and maintained by Siemens in Southampton. The fleet achieved a record breaking reliability of over 55,000 miles per technical delay over the previous 12 month period.

Gloucestershire extends traffic monitoring with solution from Siemens

Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) is expanding its CCTV traffic monitoringnetwork across key intersections with the addition of further cameras and an integrated software solution from Siemens. The newly-developed software allows CCTV cameras from different nominated suppliers to be viewed through a single UTMC compliant control environment.
