The distributed I/O system SIMATIC ET 200 integrates the quick and easy IO-Link communication of sensors and actuators into the established fieldbus systems PROFIBUS and PROFINET – and thus into Totally Integrated Automation with two master modules:

The distributed I/O ET 200S (IP20, for control cabinet installation) can accept up to 64 IO-Link masters – the serial interface modules 4SI IO-Link. For PROFINET, the rugged block I/O ET 200eco PN featuring a high degree of protection (IP65/67) is available as IO-Link master module.      

Both solutions with four IO-Link channels each enable the connection of up to four IO-Link-certified devices.

The configuration of the IO-Link channels is performed with the Port Configurator Tool “S7-PCT”, which is integrated into the STEP 7 Engineering or as stand-alone tool.
